@Phone is a free service that maps an email alias composed of your phone number and the phone.net domain name to your core email address. For instance, 17328894783@phone.net resolves to dsdebree@gmail.com, and any messages sent to the former address would be delivered to the latter address. If you decide to change email addresses or change email providers, your @Phone address (your phone number) can be mapped to another email address. In that way, @Phone users can give out their phone number instead of their email address, and message senders can append @phone.net to get a working email recipient. In an era of phone number portability, VoIP, and cellular as singular phone, this is an idea that will make your life easier.
Once you sign up, anyone who knows your phone number has a working e-mail address for you. Although you're encouraged to autoforward your phonenumber@phone.net address to your most often read e-mail address, you may decide to take advantage of our webmail features, chat, and calendar options. It's entirely up to you. All of the @Phone messaging features are powered by Google's fantastic Gmail offering.
@Phone is currently in beta and is limited to the first 5,000 registrants at this time. We will do our best to accomodate all requests for new registrations in a timely manner -- please be patient. All @Phone accounts must include your complete phone number including country code, area code, and phone number.
To sign up, send an email to 17328894783@phone.net. This email should include your first and last names as well as your complete phone number. You will receive a confirmation message from @Phone once your account has been activated. Upon signing into your @Phone account, you will need to adjust your email settings to forward to the email address of your choice. To view a brief movie depicting this process, please click here. Once you have completed these steps, we encourage you to tell your friends about your new email address and @Phone.
If you are already a member of @Phone, you can sign in to your account and adjust your settings here.
